After spending the last three months identifying and interviewing candidates, our Scout Executive Selection Committee is proud to announce that Manuel “Manny” Ramos has been named the new Scout Executive and Chief Executive Officer of the South Texas Council.
Manuel was raised in Dallas, TX and is an Eagle Scout. He is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a degree in government and history. Manuel began his Scouting career in 1998 as District Executive in the Circle Ten Council, headquartered in Dallas. After serving two districts in Dallas, Manuel joined the Denver Area Council in Denver, CO as a District Director. Following his successful service in Denver, Manuel became Assistant Scout Executive of the Nevada Area Council in Reno, NV. For the last three and a half years, Manuel has served as the Director of Field Service of the Chief Seattle Council in Seattle, WA.
Manuel has been married to his wife, Jenny, for 10 years. They have one six-year-old son, Shan, and are expecting their second child in May. Manuel has local ties to the South Texas community with relatives that live in Robstown. He will begin on May 16, 2013.
