Get the Scoop: 2014 Council Camporee

Be sure to mark your calendar for the 2014 Council Camporee: April 4-6, 2014 at Camp Karankawa. The South Texas Council Camporee is a council wide (17 counties) weekend campout (Friday evening thru Sunday morning) for Boy Scout troops and Venturing crews.

Scouts attending the camporee will have the opportunity to participate in some really cool events such as the Karankawa Trestle Walk, The Lagarto Alligator Lake Rescue, Karankawa Joe’s Cardboard Canoe Challenge, and Uncle Perry’s Fire-Building Skill to name a few. Some of Camp Karankawa’s best program areas will also be open for participants including shooting sports, C.O.P.E., and aquatic activities.

Saturday’s events will culminate with an inspiring and thrilling campfire program including the traditional Order of the Arrow call out ceremony. A Scout is reverent, so the camporee will conclude with religious services Sunday morning for those who wish to attend.

Online registration opens on March 1. The camporee fee is $10 per person, which includes a patch.
