Boy Scout Summer Camp is one of the premier programs operated by the South Texas Council at Camp Karankawa. Located in Mathis, Camp Karankawa is a nationally accredited facility that offers more than forty-five merit badges and several outstanding special programs. These programs include COPE Challenge Course activities, waterfront and swim instruction, the Coastal Kayak High Adventure program, black powder shooting, living history, and much more. Is your Scout interested in an adventure at Texas’ premier Boy Scout Summer Camp – Camp Karankawa? If your troop is heading elsewhere this summer, have no fear.
Scouts can join our Provisional Camper program during Weeks 1 and 2, where they’ll join another troop and spend the week earning merit badges, learning new skills, and making new friends.
During Week 3, Scouts may join Super Troop 1944, a Camp Karankawa program where Scouts will camp with experienced Scout leaders and see how an effective troop operates.
